From March 1, the following three programs are being offered for children 5+ and adults:
- Fundamentals of Indian Classical Music (Group class, 1 hour) – In addition to Hindustani and Carnatic music fundamentals, this class will include beginners Naad Yoga, voice and breath training, and basics of creative composition.
- Creative Composition (Group class, 1 hour) — This class is for students with some background already in Indian classical music. Besides reviewing music fundamentals, the focus will be on learning how to write and compose new English and Hindi songs in selected raagas. Students will also compose short musical plays.
- Private lessons (30 min) — For those interested in learning specific songs or composing songs on a specific personal subject, private lessons would work best. These may involve brief training in music fundamentals, and then we’ll work on the student’s project. The songs chosen can be from a variety of genres — bhajan, ghazal, or a film song.
Each class is offered twice a week, Tuesday and Sunday. Students can attend one or both classes.
